Gilden’s Arts was founded in 1981 and is a family run business with representatives in the United Kingdom, Israel and the United States of America. In June 2006, we opened our new gallery in Hampstead village, North London.
We specialise and deal in 20th Century Modern Art, with a focus on works on paper including original prints from the 20th Century: Our collection of International Art includes the Modern Masters such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque and many other highly acclaimed artists.
Generally, we have a keen interest in works of art by artists from the following movements: Surrealism, Cubism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Expressionism and Russian Avant-garde, as well as DADA and the Abstract movement.

Gilden’s Art Gallery is delighted to present original prints by Modern Masters, European Avant-Garde and American Post-War artists. We are particularly pleased to highlight three works that we will exhibit at the IFPDA Print Fair this Fall. Andy Warhol’s, ‘The Nun, from: Ingrid Bergman, 1983’, an original hand signed and numbered screenprint in colours, is one of three compositions of Ingrid Bergman. This impression is an experimental printer’s proof and the contrast between the bright and dark colours makes it an exceptionally eye-catching work – immediately evocative of Warhol’s signature Pop Art. Secondly, representing British figurative art, Lucian Freud’s, ‘Before the Fourth, 2004’, is and original hand signed and numbered etching. Freud’s approach to etching was unorthodox, as he treated the medium very much like painting, placing the plate on his easel to work horizontally and working over weeks and months. Finally, to coincide with our London gallery’s current exhibition - Pablo Picasso’s, ‘Composite Figure I | Figure Composée I, 1949’ is an exceptional example of the artist’s work with Fernand Mourlot and is a wonderful embodiment of female portraiture with a nod to earlier Cubist ideas.
